Sitting on Fat
The struggle of knowing you can do more than you’re doing.
To know there’s more in you but you’re not sure exactly how to pull it out.
The struggle of feeling useless even though you know you’re extremely valuable.
To know you have so much to offer but you’re not sure how to offer it.
To know there’s more to you…
I know God has trusted me with so much!
He’s given us each a gift or gifts…
Use the gift. Don’t just sit on fat.
Something I did for a while. I sat on what the Lord entrusted me with. I know what he called me to do, but I wasn’t sure how to use the gift. I was looking for the “right” platform to use my gift. I was waiting for the right person to make connections with.
I was limiting myself.
God can use you and your gifts anywhere. At work, the grocery store, gas station or even just walking down the street. He will use you.
Don’t limit yourself. Don’t look for the “right” way to use your gift. Be open to however God may choose to use your gift each moment.
We usually think our gifts are meant to be used in church. We think God can only use us if we join a ministry at our local church. Or create in home bible studies.
Now don’t get me wrong, that could be the platform God created for you to overflow into the lives of others, but there are many other ways and situations that could create a space for your gift to be used.
We sit on fat. Full of glorified goodness, just waiting for a door to open. Holding in everything the Lord has given us. Being selfish with the information. Only deeming it ___ for a certain group of people.
We say, God will make a way. God has made a way, we just don’t always see it happening the way God wanted it to happen.
Talk about silly! Who am I to decide what’s the right platform!? Who am I say God open doors to use me, but just make sure it’s the right door. And who are we to sit on fat when so many of God’s people need us, including the people outside of the local church.
Open yourself up to how God can use you. Open your eyes to see and ears to hear!
Let the weight go. Overflow. Pour into others.
Sitting on fat cannot be healthy. You’re sinking spiritually.
Let it go and create more space for spiritual wisdom to be imparted into you.
My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins. [James 5:19-20]
