PrinCESS of Genovia
We all know that line.
PrinCESS of Genovia, from Princess Diaries.
One of my favorite movies. I can literally quote the entire movie.
Let’s break it down.
We have a teenage girl. She’s considered an “ugly duckling”. No one knows her. She’s teased and even sat on.
She goes on everyday not realizing she’s royalty. She believes she’s nothing and has no purpose.
Then, out of nowhere she finds out she’s royalty! She did not accept it at first, but as time went on she began to enjoy being royalty. People were noticing her. She’s heard and even gets a date with the boy she’s crushing on…
But, her “royaltiness” overtook her. She wasn’t done with princess lessons. She wasn’t prepared.
How many of us know, we have a mission?
NEWSFLASH! We all have a mission, but timing is everything!
Just because you think no one sees you now, doesn’t mean you’re nothing.
You are a child of the One True King! You are a child of God!
You are royalty!
Do you think God would send you out unprepared? Do you think God would put you out there for everyone to see if you’re not ready?
God does not want us to fail. Our time in hiding, is the most crucial.
Remember, David was overlooked by his brothers and father. Everyone thought he was weak. He couldn’t be a king. But they didn’t know God was preparing him to be a king.
While out being a silly old sllhepard boy, he was also defeating lions and bears. He was learning battle skills and growing spiritually. But no one saw.
When people started to notice that this shy girl was something more, it became problematic for her closest relationships. Her best friend became more judgmetal and harsh.
Are you ready to lose friends? Are you ready for the blacklash you’ll get from the people closest to you? Stepping into your destiny is no easy task. You will lose a lot, but gain so much more.
The princess went out too early and crashed and burned. She got caught up in the excitement but didn’t know how to handle the people. And after it all, she wanted to quit being a princess!!
Well let me tell you, you can’t quit being a child of God, and your creator will not send you until you’re ready. He will make sure you are completely prepared.
He will give you every tool you need to combat whatever is thrown your way. He will give you the words you need and guide your steps.
So don’t think you’re nothing. Don’t think you don’t have a mission. Don’t think you’ll fail when your time comes. Remember, you are royalty and your King is preparing you.
Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they re wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. [1 Corinthians 1:27-28]
